Biacore T-100

Antibody/antigen interactions can be determined using Biacore’s surface plasmon resonance biosensor technology. Biacore’s technology provides a detailed view of the dynamics of antibody/antigen complex formation. To study an interaction between antibody and antigen, one of the interaction partners is immobilized onto the surface of a Biacore sensor chip and the other partner is flowed over the chip during which time antibody/antigen kinetics are recorded. We can determine the association rate (ka), dissociation rate (kd), and binding affinity (KD) of antibodies to their antigen.  These data provide a rational approach for selecting antibodies expressing the appropriate kinetics for a project.
